An Old Journey

There are these little moments in our lives. These moments that seemed so small but actually change everything... for me it was taking a list of questions and writing down my favorites. Just making a list of questions that I enjoyed answering and wanted to see if other people did too.

I got to my Senior Year of college and felt like I was about to leave it, much like I did high school, without having left much of an impact. Feeling like I was going to leave and no one would have really known me, I wouldn't have made any real impact, or many real friends.

I'd spent most of my life scared of other people, unsure of where I fit. I felt so frustrated with the fact that the place I was happiest and most comfortable was not a place that I could easily invite other people into with me. I just wanted to share myself and have other people share with me. So I decided I had to try something new. What did I have to loose? "I'll only be here another semester anyway, what could happen?"

A lot happened.

This list of questions changed my life. It changed how I thought of and loved other people. It changed how I saw myself and the world around me. One of the biggest realizations that I found over my journey of getting coffee and asking questions to over 100 people, is that everyone else wants to have someone know them. We all want to be known and to know other people. We want to be cared for and valued. This is the story of how I learned to do that.. and this is the story of how I want to give other people the chance to do it to.
